The Creative GAP - And How To Close It.

Is your “taste” better than the art you produce?
You trust in what you like but when it comes to trying to make something on that level yourself…
You fall short?
Frustrated, you think, “It just doesn’t look or sound like it’s supposed to.”
It’s close, but it’s not there.
You might be in the GAP.
That space between the quality you envision and what you can actually create.
But don’t fret.
All creative people go through this.
You must.
Why?
Because that’s where growth happens.
No one is born an “artist”.
And sure…
Some might seems more “gifted” than others early on.
But EVERYONE has to put in the time and practice.
See here’s the thing:
To close the GAP, you need to work through it.
With each beat you produce, each drawing you draw, each piece of code you write…
The GAP gets smaller and smaller.
There are no shortcuts.
Creating a large body of work closes the GAP.
I’ve been making music for over 20 years and if there’s one thing I know it’s this:
The GAP will never fully close.
It will always be there—and that’s a good thing.
Because the day you feel like you’ve perfected your art is the day it starts dying.
It’ll get boring and you’ll soon find something new to start the whole process again with.
We are meant to live in the GAP.
It’s where we feel the most alive.
Incremental progress is life.
So keep creating, keep learning.
The GAP is proof you’re still pushing, still evolving.
